Yang Deng in Berlin

Yangdeng Town, Tongzi County, Guizhou Province is a town situated on the border between Guizhou and Chongqing. In the past, it suffered from poor transport links and a lack of information; in the early 21st century, it was one of Guizhou‘s 100 ‘Category A impoverished townships’. 
The artists in this exhibition all come from rural communities in Yangdeng. They are not professional creators, but individuals who make art out of genuine devotion and love. With their hands, they record their lives; through their works, they give form to their perceptions and feelings. In doing so, they reveal how art can quietly emerge from the fabric of everyday life.

The works are priced between EUR 50 and EUR 90. All proceeds from the sales will directly benefit the participating artists.

It is a great honor for NADAN to offer a platform for these individuals who create with such sincerity and passion. NADAN hope that more people will come to this exhibition, lend their support to these artists, and encounter the honesty, warmth, and quiet humanity that reside within their works.
